But as intoxicating as the style may be, it takes a true craftsman to properly execute it. Ours improved several prototypes before arriving at this, our impressive Mission Archive Panel Bed. Constructed using interlocking stock of solid maple and accented with cherry veneers, the channel-set edge of the head and footboard is seemingly sandwiched between two meticulously carved outer layers. Each inset rectangle follows the identical technique, sharing the exact dimensions, miters and tipped-edge finish. Designed to capture interest as light moves over the piece, this contemporary showpiece is a proud example of centuries-old American handicraft
